Debbie has been a counsellor since 2000 giving a total of 15 years experience.Positions to date include: First addictions counsellor based within mental health services in NZ, the first addictions counsellor based within Primary Care (G.P’s) in NZ and the Clinical Manager of the first Drug Treatment Unit within a Maori Focus Unit within a prison. Over the years have managed a successful private practice including EAP counselling, family court, sexual abuse, forensic, addictions and general counselling. Areas of expertise include Relationship issues, dating, enneagram (personality), anger, communication skills, health issues, PMDD (pre menstrual dysphoric disorder), addictions, mental health (depression, anxiety etc.), forensic, professional and clinical supervision, trauma, work related issues, bullying, self esteem and more!Debbie has a Diploma in Applied Counselling, Post graduate addictions and rehabilitation studies, Certificate in Rehabilitation studies, certificate in Clinical Supervision, certificate in Practical Business , certificate in Business Management, certificate in Adult Teaching, certificate in Child Protection Studies and certificate in Social Services.She participates in regular clinical supervision to ensure safe up to date practice. She is also a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counselling, DAPAANZ(addictions practitioners association Aoeteroa-NZ) and a DAPAANZ approved clinical supervisor.
