Janice Flood

Psychologist

Janice is a Clinical Psychologist (Registered) based in New Plymouth, Taranaki who has  worked in a variety of settings for the past sixteen years. This was firstly in her native Ireland and then for the past ten years here in New Zealand. She moved to Taranaki in January 2012 and have been working in private practice since.

Janice works with people of all ages who present with a range of issues including experiencing abuse, but may also include aggression, anxiety, attachment problems, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, self-harm or substance misuse.

Janice believes therapy should fit with the client’s personality style, and as such she enjoys using a varied approach to therapy. Different types of therapy that can be provided includes aspects of, amongst others, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT), family/whanau relationship work, motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) and narrative therapy.

In addition to ACC she also works with or have contracts with a number of organisations including Explore Specialist Services; Instep EAP; Taranaki Primary Connections; Victim Support; Family and District Courts and others.
