Lea Orpana

Counsellor

Lea, is a registered counsellor and a member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors. She has 20 years of experience in working in the counselling field. Lea’s special interest is in Sexual Abuse, Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. She also works with children at risk and their families and with other presenting groups such as Relationship and Grief and Loss. Lea’s experience has also included working with Victims of Sexual Abuse for the number of years before moving to New Zealand. She also has experience in working in the areas of Problem Gambling and Dual Diagnoses Services (Alcohol, Drugs and Mental Health). Lea works yearly in Malawi (Africa) training leaders to work with the range of client groups including Sexual Abuse and other harmful cultural practices. Lea is passionate and comfortable in working with a range of ethnicities and cultures. She uses different counselling models, and has an insightful and intuitive style when working with people and is committed to their wellbeing.
