Christine’s qualifications include Bachelor of Counselling, Post Graduate Certificate Professional Supervision and Post Graduate Child & Adolescent Mental Health. She has worked as a counsellor for the past 20 years working with children, adolescents, adults & families. Her experience includes working in Mental Health & Addiction, Rape Crisis & Family Violence, Relationship Services, Family Court and within schools. She is a person-centred counsellor working from a strengths base with a focus of family therapy, mindfulness, creative therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy & motivational interviewing. She works with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, trauma and problems stemming from childhood abuse, work stress and self worth issues. She offers mindfulness and other effective evidence-based interventions for individuals and families, supervision, as well as facilitating 6-week Mindfulness groups in Timaru. She encourages the development of compassion for both ourselves and other people. Her focus is to encourage people to live their life with courage, compassion and connection.
