Laura Howard is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists who works primarily at Oranga Hinengaro, Maori Mental Health at Midcentral DHB.. She have worked at the DHB for just shy of five years including time at CAFS, and at Oranga Hinengaro where her current role covers Child, Adolescent, Whanau and Adult Work. However, she also works in private practice where this role involves providing input to individuals and whanau who meet criteria for ACC sensitive claims and pain contracts as well as PHO and other funded referrals and enjoys working with people of all ages with a particular interest in child/adolescent work, depression and anxiety. She practices predominantly from a CBT framework, however also has some skill set in working within a kaupapa Maori framework, and has recently completed the DBT intensive training. She is keen to provide individualised treatment plans to meet the needs of both individuals and whanau. She is also a member of the European Network for Social and Emotional Competence in Children group.
